Clients can choose from 2 options:

Option A-This is where an items is carefully consolidated and repaired but with no attempts made to hide the repair, an example is the Ancient Roman pots you see in museums where missing areas that have been filled can be clearly seen. Generally the least costly repair option.

Option B- This is where an items is carefully consolidated and repaired but with the intention to hide the repair, it will be almost invisible. Where gilding is required powdered Gold’s may be used instead of real gold leaf although this can vary anyway depending on the piece.

The repairs seen on the back of the plate are usually not disguised (unless requested by the client) to make it clear that the plate was restored.
